Phase I envisages five berths for bulk, breakbulk, and container cargo, plus dedicated coal and/or
car berths, and a liquids/gas cargo jetty to handle large-capacity vessels.

A survey was taken up under the aegis of Konkan Rly.
Take-off Point at Indapur station (174 km from Mumbai) with a separate ‘Y’ connection to Mangaon.
This enables trains to go directly to:
– South via Mangaon
– North via Roha and Pen
– Vile-Bhagad; (2 coal-fired Mega Power Houses are Proposed)
